CSI cleanup answer

Decomposition Cleanup and Odor Control

Why does decomposition require specialty cleanup?

Decomposition may affect surfaces, porous materials, flooring layers, furnishings, and adjacent spaces. CSI identifies affected materials, removes or treats contamination as appropriate, cleans and disinfects the work area, and addresses the odor source rather than relying only on fragrance or surface treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Can odor remain after ordinary cleaning?

Yes. Odor can persist or return when affected porous material or hidden contamination remains.

Does air treatment replace source removal?

No. Odor treatment does not replace locating and remediating the source.

Can flooring be saved?

That depends on material, duration, spread, access, and condition.
