After a death
Does a funeral home clean the house after someone dies?
Typically no. Funeral homes handle care and transportation of the deceased. Cleaning blood, bodily fluids, decomposition contamination and affected building materials is generally handled separately by a specialty remediation company.
What about the medical examiner or police?
They also have different roles. Law enforcement investigates the scene, and the medical examiner or coroner addresses death-investigation responsibilities. Property remediation usually begins after those authorities release the scene.
